AI Pricing, Enterprise AI, Business Model Innovation

Our discussions with enterprise customers reveal that AI adoption is being held back by outdated software business models. While AI technical capabilities are advancing rapidly, traditional enterprise pricing and contracting approaches have not kept pace with how organizations want to evaluate, adopt and scale AI.

    What's Holding Them Back?

    1. Cost uncertainty driven by unpredictable token-based pricing models,
    2. Rigid contracting processes, including lengthy negotiations and annual purchase commitments, and
    3. User/Seat based pricing.

These three issues create a lot of friction at a time when enterprises want to experiment, iterate, and scale AI quickly.

    The Need for Cost Certainty

Enterprise customers tell us they want cost certainty for any AI tool they use. They need to know at the start of a billing period how much they'll be paying for using the AI tool. This cost certainty is essential for their budgeting purposes.

Token-based pricing does not give enterprises the cost certainty they need. In these models pricing is based on the number of tokens used, meaning AI tool charges may vary greatly from month-to-month based on the number of tokens used.

Customers usually have no idea in advance how many tokens an action in an AI tool will consume - one request may use 1,000 tokens, another 3,000, with that information only available after the action is completed.

Over the course of a month, this variability can lead to a big bill shock, making it difficult for enterprises to forecast costs or confidently expand usage.

Outcome-Based Pricing Delivers What Enterprises Need

At DaaX, we believe the solution is outcome-based pricing rather than token-based pricing. Outcome-based pricing aligns costs with what enterprises care about: completed tasks and measurable results.

    Pricing Plans

For example, DaaX SQLer pricing is based on the number of answers to NL2SQL queries per month, not on model internals or token consumption:

    PlanQueries Per Month
    Free ($0/month)50 NL2SQL Queries
    Lift-Off ($199/month)2,500 NL2SQL Queries
    Growth ($399/month)6,000 NL2SQL Queries
    Turbo ($899/month)15,000 NL2SQL Queries
    EnterpriseCustomized as per your requirements

If you go with our Growth plan, you can run up to 6,000 NL2SQL queries per month for $399. It does not matter how complex the query is, how many tokens each query consumes, you pay only $399 that month. Don't worry about tokens, just focus on outcomes. Cost-certainty.

    Self-Serve Pricing Without Long-Term Commitments

Enterprise customers also tell us that the pace of AI innovation in the enterprise market is crazy fast. New tools, techniques, and capabilities are emerging constantly, making long-term contractual lock-ins unattractive.

Traditional enterprise software models involve lengthy vendor negotiations and multi-year minimum commitments, which are poorly suited to such the fast-moving AI market.

In response to this feedback, DaaX adopted a fully self-serve pricing model with no annual commitments. Customers can get started immediately with our free plan without negotiating contracts or committing to long-term purchases.

This approach allows enterprises to run proofs of concept quickly and move into production at their own pace. As needs grow, they can upgrade to a paid plan. If they find a better solution tomorrow, they are free to switch.

We believe the right way to earn and retain customers is through continuous technical innovation and measurable value—not contractual lock-in.

No User / Seat Based Pricing

Traditional enterprise software pricing is based on the number of users / seats. If DaaX is breaking traditional enterprise software business models, then this is another pricing factor we should break too.

If you believe in charging based on outcomes (answers to queries) as we do, then why should it matter how many users generate those queries? Why should it matter if one user is generating 1,000 queries per month or 10 users are generating 1,000 queries total per month?

We believe it shouldn't matter! How you apportion your queries per month is up to you.

Rethinking Business Models for the AI Era

We believe the next phase of enterprise AI adoption will be driven not just by technical breakthroughs, but also new business models designed for speed, experimentation, and scale. Outcome-based, self-serve, no-lock-in pricing, no user/seat pricing removes friction, enables adoption, and allows enterprises to deploy DaaX AI with confidence.

At DaaX, we're building not just better AI tools—but a better way to adopt them.
